2-16-05 Signed with ICA as our Adoption Agency

2-18-05 Sent I600A to USBCIS (Immigration Application)

2-23-05 Began Home Study Paperwork for DATZ

3-3-05 Fingerprinting at INS (Jeanine)

3-7-05 Required Physician's paperwork completed (Ken)

3-7-05 1st of 3 meetings with Social Worker for Home Study

3-8-05 Fingerprinting at INS (Ken)

3-10-05 Required Physician's paperwork completed (Jeanine)

3-18-05 2nd meeting with Social Worker for Home Study

4-2-05 3rd Meeting with Social Worker for Home Study

4-18-05 Received rough draft of Home Study for revisions from us and ICA

4-28-05 Final Draft of Home Study sent via Fed Ex to USBCIS

4-29-05 Legal contract and related paperwork notarized and sent to ICA. First payment of fees.

6-1-05 Received I-171H Form from USCIS

6-2-05 Sent documents via Fed Ex to Secretaries of State authenticaion departments in AZ, PA, and D.C.

6-3-05 Sent documents via Fed Ex to Virginia Secretary of State for authentication- this is the last set of documents (we hope!)

6-7-05 Received apotilled documents from DC.

6-17-05 All of our apostilled documents have been received except our Marriage Certificate. That will hopefully arrive any day now...

6-20-05 Met with Eva at ICA- gave her both copies of dossier. Dossier sent to our facilitators in Ukraine.

6-23-05 Our marriage certificate finally arrived- Ken will take it to our agency on Friday. Also, baby registry created at Babies R Us!

6- 24-05 The dossier arrived in Ukraine for translations.

6-30-05 Dossier submitted (and accepted) at the National Adoption Center in Kiev, Ukraine.

7-6-05 Documents needing updating translated and submitted to the NAC so our dossier's registration can be completed.

9-15-05 Dossier ACTUALLY submitted to the NAC.

10-13-05 Registered with the NAC, registration number given

11-3-05 Received registration number in the mail.

11-4-05 Appointment request  letter notarized

11-5-05 Appointment request letter sent to get apostilled

11-9-05 Appointment letter emailed to agency, translated, and emailed to NAC.  (Will send original apostilled letter to Ukraine once we get it back with apostilles.)

12-28-05 NAC dissolved; transfer of authority over adoptions moved to a new Ministry.  Still waiting for information about our appointment date; this change of Ministries will cause further delays. 

1-31-06 Pres. Yushenko signed bill allowing NAC to have interim authority until May 1st while new adoption state department is established under Ministry of Youth and Sports.

2-6-06 WE HAVE OUR TRAVEL DATE! Wow. Our appointment date is set for March 28th. Is this too good to be true?

2-7-06 Made appointments for getting new medicals completed; called home study agency for the H.S. to be updated; other paperwork in motion so we can get everything notarized and apostilled before we leave!

2-23-06 Doctor's appointment (Jeanine) for medical report update.

2-24-06 Met with social worker for the home study update. Book airline tickets for the trip.

2-27-06 Follow up appt. for Jeanine with doctor

2-28-06 Ken's doctor's appointment for his medical report update.

3-3-06 Travel Conference with our agency

3- 8-06 Received updated background check

3-9-06 Received updated home study

3-11-06 Received Jeanine's Employment Verification with apostille

3-18-06 All paperwork finished and sent to Ukraine this week. 

3-25-06 We leave for Ukraine! 

3-26-06 We arrive in Kiev.  Ukrainian elections take place the same day

3-28-06 Appointment at the NAC

3-29-06 Papwork at the NAC

3-30-06 Met the children and LOVED them.  Paperwork filed.

4-11-06 Court hearing: cancelled, rescheduled for tomorrow

4-12-06 Court hearing: cancelled, rescheduled for tomorrow

4-13-06 Court hearing: WE ARE PARENTS!

4-23-06 10 day waiting period ended! Lira and T left the orphanage  with us today.

4-30-06 We're home in the good ol' USA!

5-12-06 Registered Lira and Timmy with the Ukrainian Embassy in D.C.

6-7-06 Received Lira and Timmy's passports back from the Embassy.
